5 Resolutions That Can Be Made Everyday

The fireworks were done exploding and I had nothin’.

At the end of every year I always find myself too busy (or perhaps that’s an excuse) to make the infamous “New Year’s Resolutions.”  I start thinking about a good goal only to come up empty by the time the ball drops.

Luckily, I did my research (via experience) and found that it’s never too late to make goals for oneself.  Personally, I think that if you’re not working toward something then you may find yourself standing still.  So, if you, too, came up with nothing in your resolution search, fear not, these five can be “re-resolutioned” every, single, day.

Treat Yourself Better

No relationship in the world matters more than this one you have with yourself.  As I creep upon my thirties I’ve discovered more and more examples of this.  If you want something, you have to be the one to provide it for yourself.

So eat better or.. indulge!  Buy that new dress or… save money!  Workout or… take a rest day!  The important thing is to decide what it is you need in your life and find a way to get it. By giving it to yourself.

Smile More

Because you feel like it or because, well, you’re gonna fake it til you make it.  Either way, you’re happy or you’re taking the next step to be happy.

Care Less About What Others Think

Probably the hardest thing on the list.  Everyone cares, to some extent, what people around them think of them.  My point here is, don’t let their thoughts, claims, or judgements drive you.  If you do what you do because you want to there can be no regrets.

Be Honest

Because being dishonest is a huge waste of time.  Eventually the truth will come forward and all that time you spent being dishonest will come back to haunt you.  If you aren’t sure about something and you’ve given it some thought, “I don’t know” is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Experience Things

Today is only a day but- it’s a day!  What I mean is don’t take your day too seriously since it’s only a day but make it worth your while because, after all, none of us know how many we have left.

Get out there and DO things!  Try new things, surprise yourself because there is no good reason to wait.  And do these things because you know you’ll never be able to take my word on them.
